STEW LEONARD’S

Stew Leonard’s Farm Fresh Foods is known for its farm-fresh milk, “from scratch” in-store bakery, cut-to-order butcher shop, and fresh seafood department. Their first Long Island store is located in Airport Plaza shopping center in Farmingdale. The new 60,000 square-foot store consisted of complete interior demolition including the entire concrete slab. The interior was fitted out with a new 10,000 square-foot mezzanine for added office space. A new loading dock and mechanical mezzanine was added at the rear of the building. The interior finishes in the store consist mostly of rough sawn pine boards and stone fascias to create a barn-like atmosphere. The store layout is unique in the way that the isles are not run parallel to each other but is laid out more like the isles in Ikea. Also unique to the store is all the animatronic figures that it has throughout. The exterior façade was completely demolished and redone with Hardi grooved siding. At the main entrance stands their trademark Silo.
